Fayth Angelica Hope lost her father at age twelve. She was left alone to be raised by her mother, Gladys. The relationship between the two was so rocky and tumultuous that Fayth nicknamed her mother Cruella. Eventually the Fayth’s aunt rescued her by moving Fayth in with her. Fayth never looked back.

Fast forward fifteen years and the once mistreated Fayth has re-emerged as Angelica Hope. She’s a budding investigative reporter assigned to cover a big story about a handsome, financial advisor Jasion McCoy who is embroiled in an embezzlement scandal. While trying to get to the bottom of the scandal the two connect with each other and Angelica uncovers more than she ever imagined. Not realizing that their paths crossed years ago, Fay Fay and JC were destined to cross to be in each other’s lives.

This novel is a love story. It covers the relationship between Angelica and Jasion and watching things evolve between them is endearing. Notably the spotlight is on Angelica, who grew up being mistreated by her mother, which affected her adult life. Through spiritual counseling and allowing herself to forgive her mother’s past transgressions allows her to heal and move on with her life. I recommend Where Was God? And look forward to reading more Christian fiction stories by this author.
