Imani, Melody and Lance’s lives change once again in this third installment, True Colors by K. R. Raye. Imani Cabrette’s life is finally on track. She is married to a wonderful man and things are going well until… A night of entertaining friends becomes a life changing experience when Imani receives a disturbing call.

Melody has moved on with life after the death of boyfriend Kevin. She is in a loving relationship that keeps her smiling. When Melody finds out that tragedy has hit close to home again, she tries her best to stand by her friend. Melody soon starts juggling her best friend and her man’s pain until it becomes too overwhelming.

In steps Lance the protector. Lance hasn’t seen Imani since their short lived fling but he knows his friends need him for support. Lance’s feelings for Imani resurface and he realizes that he wants her back. The problem with that is Lance has bad timing.
These three friends must once again lean on each other to get through another trying event in their lives. Leaving readers to wonder if Melody will come unglued trying to keep everything for everyone else together or if Imani and Lance will give in to their desires while dealing with a tragedy?

True Colors was my favorite book in this series. This was a book about love, friendship and family with a small touch of drama and a little suspense. The author does a wonderful job refreshing readers’ minds by hinting about the previous two books within this third one while keeping readers anticipating the decisions of the three friends in this one. Readers will also get to know these three friends even more while hoping that they all are able to deal with the hands they are dealt. I recommend this book and the series to others.
