Q & A with Dr. Ezreaonne Jackson

A&RBC: Thank you so much for this interview,  Can you tell us where you are from?

Born in Jackson, MS but parents migrated to Oakland, CA while in was in grade school.

A&RBC: How did you come up with your title?

The history of the Hebrews is an epic story of God and his care for his chosen people he called “His First Born”  Rahab was a harlot that lived at the gate of the infamous Jericho city where the falls came that gave Israel victory to conquer the land promised to their progenitor Abraham.  Rahab played an intricate part in the strategy assisting the nation and became the great, great, Grandmother of King David.  Jesus is also recorded as coming through her blood line.  It is common for people to discard the distained and discarded people in life, but God is no respecter of persons.  His grace extends to the darkness hell holes of life.  Rahab was once a prostitute, but the secret that she would one day be an intricate part of the plan of God was an unfolding story.

A&RBC: They say you can judge a book by its cover.  Can you tell us a little about your cover and who designed it?

Because it is my memoir of my youth, the young me is plainly seen in the right hand corner, while a full figure of myself with folded arms of confidence is displayed.  The background seems like dark brick walls or streets (red-light-district) to suggest a subliminal message of chaos.

A&RBC: Can you tell us something about your book that would make me run out and buy it?

If you enjoy thrilling novels, love stories or books that invite you to set with the author and observe as if watching an epic movie, a life in motion…..a bad girl gone good might ….you might find yourself somewhere in the lines of the memoir.

A&RBC: Are there any messages in this book that you want the reader to know about?

Sometimes your choices are not your choices, you may be the character in a life’s play that God has sanctioned, just so your life can tell come one that Love and grace are virtues that are beyond explanation, but realized and appreciated with great wonder.

A&RBC: What was your most favorite chapter to write and why?

There were actually two, but I knew Chapter 11 would be more appealing to the readers because of the level of danger descried the miracle of escape.

The Kidnapping   Chapter 11

“As the tires screeched, the kidnapping assailant pressed harder into the accelerator making a left hand turn onto one of the busiest streets in the night-light district in Oakland, California, 27th and San Pablo, my thought was, “Am I going to die tonight?”

A&RBC: Why did you feel you had to write this book?

The Grace of God and his love needs to be experienced by the street-walker to the Wall Street broker.   A life guard’s purpose is to sit high and observe to ensure that every swimmier is safe while having fun.   I was that life guard that needed to let those know who are drowning in their past dark mysteries that there is a life line to rescue.

A&RBC:  Now, some fun questions – What deep dark secret would you like to share with us?

Prostitution has a dark side, but it also has an appealing side.  Meeting people and understanding what they really want, and it is not always sex.

A&RBC: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Europe to tour Paris and experience the history and energy of its atmosphere.

A&RBC: Are you a morning person or a night person?

Night person

A&RBC: Are there any members in your family who also like to write?

A&RBC: As a child, were you a dreamer?

A&RBC: Last but not least, the magic genie has granted you one wish.  What would that be?

That my book would be a Hollywood movie

A&RBC: Thank you so much for this interview! Do you have any final words?

Thank you for being a gift in the Kingdom and allowing me to remind myself real motives for writing this book.
