Olivia Westerly leaves her parents’ house to pursue the career she wants. Olivia knows her father doesn’t approve but being her own person and using her own mind is more important to her. Olivia’s times are hard without her parents help but she manages to survive.

Olivia meets Charles and her world changes. She doesn’t know everything about Charles but she falls for him. Olivia says yes to the proposal and they are off to their honeymoon. When Charles passes away Olivia is left with her hurt and pain. Olivia arrives home to find her stepson waiting. What is Olivia supposed to do with an eleven year old boy?

Olivia finds out that Ethan’s mother has died and now so has his father. She is all that the boy has left. Olivia must help Ethan find out what happened to his parents and why a mysterious person doesn’t want him to talk. Will Olivia and Ethan find out before it is too late?

Spare Change was an interesting mystery story with a strong storyline and unsuspected twists and turns. I enjoy the author’s style of mystery writing because it kept me guessing until the end. I recommend Spare Change to others.
