A funeral brings Maria Posey back to her hometown of Rosefield in A Matter of Time by Stacy Deanne. Maria comes home to attend a family friend’s funeral and decides to make the trip worth her while by investigating the disappearance of her best friend, Brenda. Brenda and Maria were close until they had a horrible fight and Brenda stormed away from Maria not to be seen again. The pain of losing her friend along with other bad memories causes Maria to relocate to Austin, TX.

Maria is now back in Rosefield and has enlisted the help of Brenda’s brother, Nelson and their friend Zita to find out once and for all who was responsible for Brenda not coming home. Some secrets should stay hidden and the more the trio digs strange things start to happen. As they interview past suspects they get closer to the truth and someone in Rosefield doesn’t want them to uncover it.

A Matter of Time will provide readers with mystery, suspense and a little hint of romance. This book has all the elements of a good mystery with just the right amount of twists and turns. I was shocked once I reached the end because it was not who I expected it to be. The author does a wonderful job hinting to the romance between Maria and Nelson while not letting it over power the mystery element of the storyline. I definitely recommend A Matter of Time to others.
