Jana, Cara and Meg have been friends since childhood vowing nothing would come between them. The girls reach their twenties and their lives start to changing along with the start of a small crack in their friendship. In Lost Along The Way, author Erin Duffy, introduces readers into the story after Jana announces she eloped with her boyfriend, Doug. She is hoping her girls will be excited and happy for her but this isn’t the response she receives. Cara and Meg try to get Jana to understand that she is moving to fast in the relationship. Jana doesn’t want to hear what they have to say and the crack grows  bigger in their friendship.

Seven years go by and the three women have gone on with their lives. Meg and her husband, Steve are living in two separate locations, Cara continues to let her husband, Reed bully and control her while Jana lives the glam life with her husband, Doug. They ladies have not spoken to each until Jana’s husband gets arrested and she has no one to turn to but the two people who know her best. As they reconnect with each other, all three learn the lives they are living.

Lost Along The Way is about friendship, marriage, self-esteem, self-worth and loss. I enjoyed the flashbacks throughout the story, which gave a deeper look into the friendship of the three women and gave me a closer connection to them. I enjoyed the journey as the women faced their issues, found each other again and gained strength with a new perspective on life. This was the first book I have read by this author and it was well written with excellent characters and a well-developed storyline. After reading Lost Along The Way I had to purchase her other titles. If you love women fiction then you need to get this book.
