In Buddies by Edward Dreyfus, readers are introduced to four friends in different stages of life. The four friends, Sam, Billy, Roy and Joey reunite catching up on old times. Things change once they meet Raul and his wife, Sasha. As the story continues, Sasha slowly seduces the four friends with her devious agenda. The four friends start splitting apart and soon the mystery behind Sasha’s plan is revealed. It didn’t surprise me that they all fell for it.

Buddies was not what I expected. It started very slow, which made it hard to relate to any of the characters. As the book picks up the four friends true personalities and the bond behind their friendship becomes clear.  After I found out what Sasha wanted from these four men, a new twist comes into the story. The thriller part of the book comes to life and I started to enjoy the book. I am wondering if the author will continue Sasha’s story.
