In this new Kate Bradley mystery, Perfectly Good Crime, Kate, a news reporter is assigned to cover a heist. It seems someone is stealing from the rich and everyone wants to know why. As Kate looks more into the story she finds the robbers have decent motives for their actions. She starts working with a Jake Newton, a LA detective but as they progress in the investigation, Jake disappears.

Kate not only has to find out who is behind the robberies but also what happened to Detective Newton. Kate also has to figure out if she’ll accept her dream job in New York and how it will affect her relationship with Eric, the hunky firefighter.

I enjoy Dete Meserve’s mysteries because Kate Bradley works to solve crimes that are committed to helping others. She also includes a little hint of romance in Kate’s life. This book was entertaining with a few twists with a well-developed plot and structure. I enjoyed this book more so than the first book because I connected more with Kate’s character in this one.
