The Lobby is the centerpiece of a successful hotel in San Francisco that offers readers a glimpse into the lives of the employees and their guest within a twenty-four hour period. It is full of entertaining characters with stories that reminds me of people in my everyday life.

The chapters are times throughout the day where a hotel employee or guests have something happening to them or sharing an experience. My favorite is five am when Meredith wakes up with a stranger then tries to sneak back to her room but is surprised by who she meets at the elevator. My second favorite is nine am when Pamela has a conversation with an old friend and realizes that it is okay for her to move on and to start dating after her divorce.

This is a wonderful book told in a unique way based around the lobby of one special hotel. I really enjoyed the description of the hotel and the characters kept me reading this book with their humor, relationships and encounters. I recommend The Lobby to others and can’t wait to read more of this author’s work.
