Own Your Stupidity is a message filled book about hiding pain, loss and forgiveness. It is not always good for you to keep silent about the issues you are dealing with. However, it is good to talk to someone and ask for help. Sids Ahky Stevens’ family didn’t know all the issues she was dealing with and her act of defense was to keep it to herself.

It’s true she is a product of her environment but she had the power to change her story and this is exactly what she did. After being hit by a car, loosing her child which affected her marriage, Sid was able to move forward. She worked on herself, her marriage, started accepting help from those who were supporting her and was able to recognize it’s fine to be survivor and be willing to share her story to help others.

I applaud this author for allowing readers  an intimate look into her life. She is a strong woman for having overcome everything she has been through. She truly owns her stupidity and has learned how to be better. I enjoyed the story because it seemed to give Sids a sense of freedom. I also enjoyed the chapter headings, which made it easier to follow the direction the book was heading. I recommend this book to others.
