Book Review: The Bridge of the Golden Wood by Karl Beckstrand

Title: The Bridge of the Golden Wood

Author: Karl Beckstrand

Rating: 4 Stars=Great Page Turner

Purchase: Amazon.com

The Bridge of the Golden Wood tells the story of a boy who meets an older woman who teaches him the value of making money by using a talent. This is an educational book for children to learn about values, finance and responsibility. It provides not only a story, but also exercises and examples at the end, which relate to the activities the boy encounters in the book.

My favorite thing about this book is that it is a teaching book and leaves the reader with an interactive component. The illustrations were beautiful which enhanced the visual aspect of the book’s message. However, I would have preferred the characters to have names because it would have increased my connection with them.
