What do you do when you’re accused of a horrible crime and you know you’re innocent?
I just finished coming home for Christmas, a book about family, forgiveness and love. It was a compelling story centered around Luke Hamilton trying to clear his name and Elizabeth Hamilton trying to build the courage to come home.
The characters were complex but in a good way. Luke is a man who is hurting, angry and determined. Elizabeth is a woman who has experienced a trauma and just wants things to go back the way they were. I was anticipating these two having an all-out drag out fight, but I’m glad the story didn’t go in that direction.
This book is about a family dealing with major issues that affected the whole family not just Luke and Elizabeth. Their children’s personalities come out in the story as well and I so would have agreed with Cassie’s outlook on things if it was me. It was easy to connect with the characters and to be fully invested in the story.
This author’s writing style is enduring and wonderful as well as her stories. I recommend this book to those who love women’s fiction.
