Mini Reviews of Deep Dark Secrets, She’s Not Here & Obscura

Deep Dark Secrets by Sarra Cannon

Marayah Freeman is trying to get her life back to normal, but something about the night of her accident keeps bothering her. Not only did she lose her best friend, but a memory keeps coming back and she cannot decipher it. This book had my investigative skills on how alert. I loved the mystery element to it. I also loved at each turn a new obstacle happens and the characters must start over. This is book one in the Spiritwalkers series and I pray she continues this series soon. I am on pens and needles waiting for book two. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

She’s Not Here by Mandi Lynn

Willow wants to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease. She will do anything to get it. This book is about how one woman’s need for answers made her choose the wrong way to get them. I will say this book took an unexpected turn and I was shocked toward the end, but it made for a good thriller. I believe author did a good job showing how the disease affects the patient as well as family. It was an emotional read for me having taken care of patients with Alzheimer’s. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Obscura by Joe Hart

I did not realize it at first, but this is the second book I read with a form of mental illness involved. Obscura is about an aggressive form of Dementia. A doctor travels with a NASA team for research where something goes wrong. Dr. Ryan tries to find out what is happening before it takes over her too. This was a psychological suspense novel that starts off slow but picks up. I did not really connect with all the characters but kept reading because I wanted Dr. Ryan to success. ⭐⭐⭐
