2018 has left and 2019 is here, which means setting new attainable goals and impossible resolutions. I’m sure everyone is putting together their reading goals and deciding on which reading challenges they will tackle for the new year. This year I’m doing something a little different instead of joining challenges and failing, I’m just setting reading goals, with no new year resolutions. This way I enjoy reading without the pressure. I’m sharing my 2019 reading goals and hope you share yours, maybe we can tackle them together.
Goal#1-To read all the books I purchased in 2018 (about 80) that I havent read yet. I will be DNFing any books that don’t keep my interest past the fifth chapter.
Goal#2-To reread a book (blacklist books before 2017) by at least two to three authors.
Goal#3-To finish at least two to three series I started in 2018. Bargainer Series by Laura Thalassa, Thorne of Glass Series by Sarah J Maas and The Secret of Spellshadow Manor Series by Bella Forrest
Goal#4-To read at least one non-fiction book a month. This can be personal development, memoir or self-help related to business and or craft of writing.
Goal#5- To start the two series I put off last year, The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis and The Trisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo.
Goal #6-To keep a reading log of the books I read along with title, author name, page count, genre and rating.
I’m set to read 100 books for 2019, which is not usual for me. I have set attainable goals and if I read at least eight books a month, I’ll hit my 100 book goal, give or take about four books. I’m looking forward to a successful reading year as well as releasing my second book. I’m also making changes to how and what I’ll be posting to this blog (more on that later).
Good luck on your reading goals and feel free share in the comments below.
Happy New Year!
