Nettie Gilbert’s life changes in are day in A Peach of A Pair by Kim Boykin. Nettie is student a Columbia College is South Carolina studying music. She is engaged to the love of her life, Brooks. When Nettie receives an invite to her sister’s wedding it changes Nettie’s outlook on life. Nettie finds out her one and only love is marrying her sister. Nettie is devastated and decides to leave school.

Nettie separates herself from school and family by taking a job caring for two elderly sisters. Nettie has a bumpy start with the Eldridge sisters. Lurleen is battling an illness while Emily stays busy being protective and nagging Nettie every chance she gets. At times Nettie wants to throw in the towel but something keeps her there for the sisters. It may be the handsome doctor Remmy Wilkes who has caught her eye and has her attention. It may also be the road trip the three ladies take that teaches them about themselves and opens Nettie’s eyes to forgiveness and letting past hurt go.

A Peach of a Pair is a wonderful story about forgiving family when they hurt you and helping others. This book was well-written with characters readers can relate to as well as the situations. I recommend this book to others.
