A wonderful story about new love.
Rhythm Bay Love is a contemporary romance about co-workers taking their differences and turning it into something positive. Jada and Antoine do not get along and it is making their work environment difficult. This continues to happen until they get to know each other. It is great that they overcame their issues, but there are other obstacles that just may do enough damage to ruin what they have accomplished.
I am not a big romance reading, but this book re-introduced me to the genre in a good way. The romance did not overpower the story, which had a hint of drama and interesting characters. I really enjoyed Jada and Antoine and how they handled everything going on in their lives without letting it affect them. Some of the supporting characters like Kiley and Gordan really got under my skin, but I still want to learn more about them.
Some people just cannot let go and some are just wanting to stir up trouble, which made for a page turning book and I was all for it. If you like romance with a bit of a twist than Rhythm Bay Love is for you. I am anticipating the sequel because I have a feeling Kiley will be up to something else.

Romance you love with the darkness you crave.
Abbi Cook grew up wondering if she was different because she always wanted to know more about the villain than the hero in the stories she read. When she got older, she found there were others in the world like her and devoured their writing, loving every dark word. She’s written her own tales for years, but in 2019 she decided it was time to take the next step and publish them. She’s never looked back since that day.

A person can never get away from their past. This is evident in She Wears the Mask by Shelly Stratton.
Jasmine, a lawyer at a well- known law firm, is given the assignment of helping one of their long-term clients. When she meets Angelique, Jasmine Is not sure how to take her, but she is determined to help her find her lost daughter. Jasmine wants to do a good job, impress her boss, and move up in the firm, being the only black woman, but this task takes a little more than she expects.
She Wears the Mask is a beautifully written book about acknowledging flaws and righting wrongs. Angelique is a pillar of wisdom and reading the interactions between her and Jasmine were wonderful. Angelique’s son, Edgar was the only character I did not like.
It was easy to connect with the characters since the book switches back and forth from the past, which helped in learning more about Angelique and the present, which helped in learning more about Jasmine. Everyone keeps secrets and these characters had to face theirs, which led to an emotional book. I will admit I cried. I love this author’s writing style and how she pulls emotions out of you through her characters.
If you like women fiction or historical fiction with a small amount of drama, some suspense and triggers of loss and grief, this book is for you I look forward to her next book.
